Clearing customs at Perth International Airport
Incoming Passenger Card
On the airplane to Australia, you will be given an Incoming Passenger Card by the flight attendants. The passenger card is a declaration that explains what you are bringing in to Australia. Answer all the questions truthfully. The penalties for false declarations are very heavy and the goods may be confiscated.
What sort of things do you need to declare?
You must declare for inspection all food, plant material and animal products on arrival in Australia to ensure they are free of pests and diseases. Some products may require treatment to make them safe. You can dispose of high-risk items in quarantine bins in the airport terminal.
Why do you need to declare what you bring?
Being an island, Australia is protected from many of the pest, plant and animal diseases found in other parts of the world. Food, plant material and animal products from overseas could introduce some of the world's most serious pests and diseases into Australia, devastating our valuable agriculture and tourism industries and unique environment.
If you are not sure about an item you want to bring in to Australia, ask a quarantine officer.
Getting out of the airport
If you asked us to pick you up from the airport, you will be greeted by the reception officer in the arrival hall. The reception officer will have a sign with your name on it.
Your flight to Australia may land in another Australian city before your onward connection to Perth. In this case you may be allowed to clear customs before taking your internal flight to Perth.
If this happens, you will most likely arrive at the domestic terminal. The reception officer will still meet you there. You will find them at the bottom of the escalator near the baggage carousel.
If you cannot find the reception officer, call 0424 267 050. DO NOT leave the airport.
Transport from the airport to your accommodation
Once you have arrived at Perth Airport and have coordinated an airport pick up through us, a driver will be waiting for you at the large welcome desk. If you have not coordinated an airport pick up, you will need to take public transportation or a taxi to get to your accommodation.
